A large group of scientists worked on the composition of the drug, who experimentally selected a consortium of microorganisms with a high level of heat resistance. Selection of microorganisms based on thermal stability and an increase in the number of structures of compounds that protect cells from negative temperature effects were carried out in order to use the drug for the manufacture of complete, granular, extruded and expanded feeds.

The microbiological complex "BONAKA-APK" and "BONAKA-APK-N" is a consortium of microorganisms grown on a nutrient medium of a special composition. It contains bacterial biomass, products of their vital activity and components of culture fluid. The composition of the consortium is selected from specially selected and modified strains of microorganisms based on their physiological and genetic properties (including Lactococcus, Lactobacillus, Bifidobacterium, Propionibacterium).

"Bonaka APK-N" (liquid form) contains a complex of live strains of probiotic bacteria in the amount of: Lactococcus lactis subsp. Lactis – at least 4x10⁸ CFU/ml, lactic acid bacteria (Lactobacillus delbrueckii subsp.bulgaricus, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus casei, Lactobacillus plantarum) – at least 5x10⁸ CFU/ml, Bifidobacterium bifidum, Bifidobacterium longum, Bifidobacterium adolescentis) –at least 2x10⁷ CFU/ml, propionic acid bacteria (Propionibacterium shermanii, Propionibacterium freudenrechii) – at least 1x10⁸ CFU/ml.
"Bonaka APK" (dry form) contains a complex of live strains of lyophilized probiotic bacteria in the amount of: Lactococcus lactis subsp. Lactis – at least 5x10⁸ CFU/g, lactic acid bacteria (Lactobacillus delbrueckii subsp.bulgaricus, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus casei, Lactobacillus plantarum) – at least 1x10⁹ CFU/g, Bifidobacterium bifidum, Bifidobacterium longum, Bifidobacterium adolescentis) – at least 2x10⁷ CFU/g, propionic acid bacteria (Propionibacterium shennanii, Propionibacterium freudenrechii) – at least 5x10⁸ CFU/g.

Each batch of the manufactured product undergoes internal and external quality control. Control of probiotic properties of feed additive is carried out in accordance with GOST 31928-2013 "Medicinal products for veterinary use of probiotic microorganisms".

BONAKA LLC has been operating on the market since 2015. Initially, the main activity was the production of innovative microbiological products for cleaning thermal equipment. Then, a new biotechnological product "BONAKA-PROM" was created, which is used for cleaning and sanitation of animal and bird watering systems, including during technological pauses. The cleaning effect has been confirmed by numerous experiments conducted on large livestock and poultry complexes. It is achieved through the synthesis of a number of organic acids and other antibiotic substances by bacteria (bactericidal and bacteriostatic action), as well as hydrogen peroxide (cleansing effect). Veterinary specialists highly appreciated the effect of the product and noted that in those buildings where cleaning was carried out with the help of BONAKA-PROM, the incidence of young animals significantly decreased.

The next stage was the creation of a microbiological complex with a probiotic effect, which also has the effect of cleaning drinking systems. Examination of pipelines supplying drinking water to groups of animals and birds that were given the microbiological complex "BONAKA-APK-N" showed the absence of traces of biofouling, sediment contamination, and microbiological sowing did not reveal contamination of pathogenic microflora.

The effect of using the microbiological complex "BONAKA-APK" and "BONAKA-APK-N" consists of economic and industrial components. The economic component is to increase the level of profitability of production and reduce the cost of antibiotics by increasing the immunity of animals. Production is an increase in weight gain, an improvement in feed conversion and an increase in the resistance of livestock to pathogenic and conditionally pathogenic microflora, an increase in the environmental safety of production.

The microbiological complex enhances humoral and cellular immunity. In animals, there is an increase in bactericidal, lysozyme and β-lysine activity of blood serum, an increase in phagocytic activity, an improvement in the synthesis of nonspecific antibodies and the effectiveness of vaccinations.

The appointment together with hyperimmune serums provides a more pronounced preventive effect, reduces the duration of illness in animals and birds, increases their safety by 10-15%, prevents relapses of the disease, provides a rapid restoration of effective digestion and body weight gains.

Probiotics are non–pathogenic bacteria or other microorganisms that have antagonistic activity against pathogenic and conditionally pathogenic microorganisms, ensuring the restoration of normal microflora, performing other functions useful for the animal. In other words, probiotics are living non–pathogenic microorganisms (or agents containing them), which, when used in adequate quantities, restore microbiocenosis (normalize the intestinal microflora) and have a healing effect.

The concept of "probiotic" is relatively new. It is believed that Ferdinand Vergin first used it in 1954. He compared the harmful properties of antibiotics and beneficial properties of good bacteria, calling the latter "probiotic". This word is of Greek origin: pro – "for", bios – "life", i.e. "for life" or "creating life". Vergin defined probiotics as a mixed culture of bacteria. They have a beneficial effect on the body, which, by taking them, improves its microflora.

If we consider the concept of "probiotics" from the point of view of medicine, in 2002 an official consensus was reached on the definition of probiotics. The definition adopted by the World Health Organization (WHO) states: "Probiotics (also called bacteria or cultures) are living microorganisms that, when taken in sufficient quantities, have a positive effect on human health." Probiotics include microorganisms (lactic acid bacteria, bifidobacteria), which are normal inhabitants of the intestines of a healthy person. Taking into account the peculiarities of digestion in animals and taking into account the many works of microbiologists, as well as the results of their own in vitro studies, Bonaka LLC decided to create a microbiological complex containing the biomass of bacteria from the species Lactococcus, Lactobacillus, Bifidobacterium, Propionibacterium. These microorganisms are the normoflora of the intestine. Our goal was to produce a safe, non-toxic probiotic even in case of overdose and in cases of prolonged use.

On the other hand, the spore microflora belong to the so–called self-eliminating antagonists - bacteria that are non-specific inhabitants of the gastrointestinal tract. They are often aggressive and can lead to the suppression of typical representatives of the normal flora of the gastrointestinal tract, are quickly excreted from the body and are not always safe for animals and poultry.

It is believed that the spore microflora of the genus Bacillus belongs to probiotic microorganisms that have a wide range of antagonistic activity in relation to pathogenic and potentially pathogenic bacteria, whereas lactic acid microorganisms, along with probiotic activity, additionally have prebiotic activity, i.e. they have a stimulating effect on the growth and vital activity of beneficial microflora, showing the properties of synbiotics. Moreover, the recommended time for prescribing spore probiotics is strictly limited – no more than 3-5 days, subject to strict dosing of the feed additive.
